Hampton Road Autobody Association Annual Car Show

On Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head out to the Hampton Roads Autobody Association's Annual Car Show. The event takes place at the Khedive Shrine Center and proceeds benefit the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.

There will be five categories at the car show, and if you want to enter yourself, registration begins at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. Cash prizes are available for the winners, and judging begins at 2 p.m. Whether you want to show off your ride or check out some of the coolest cars in Virginia, this is a great event for all kinds of car lovers.

Chesapeake Jubilee

From Thursday, May 18 through Sunday, May 21, the Chesapeake Jubilee takes over the area with food, fun and carnival rides galore. More than 35,000 people visit this annual event, and it's been a Chesapeake tradition for more than 33 years running.

This year's Chesapeake Jubilee will feature the Chesapeake Kiwanis Club Shrimp Feast and the BBQ Cook-off Competition, sanctioned by the world famous Kansas City Barbeque Society. There will be live music performances from a number of great local acts, as well as fun rides and attractions for people of all ages to enjoy. The main attraction is the Fireworks Extravaganza, produced by the world famous Zambelli Fireworks. Kick off the summer the right way at the Chesapeake Jubilee!

Skywatch at Northwest River Park

Interested in learning about outer space? Head over to Northwest River Park on Saturday, January 21 at 5:30 p.m. for a free skywatch!

Join the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers (BBAA), learn about their scopes and ask them your most pressing questions at this free event. Several large telescopes will be set up, and guests will get a tour of the night sky, while learning about telescopes and astronomy.

Weather permitting, this fun event will take place at the Equestrian Area at Northwest River Park. Call (757) 421-7151 to confirm.
