There's nothing more magical than the winter holiday season, and in Downtown Norfolk, the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade will light up the streets and really kick off the festivities. On Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m., head downtown and watch as the city's elaborate holiday lights are illuminated for the first itme this year.

During the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade, the region's largest holiday parade will wind its way through the streets, complete with a marching band, giant balloons, themed floats, and much more. This year's theme is "Winter Wonderland," and it promises to be a truly incredible sight to see. Even Santa himself will make an appearance at the parade, so this is one event that the whole family will love!

Kick Off the Holiday Season at the McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach

Ring in the holidays in the Virginia Beach area at the McDonald's Holiday Lights at the Beach celebration on November 18. This annual celebration marks the official start of the holiday season by lighting up the boardwalk with elaborate, festive decorations in the shape of fun, beach-themed scenes.

More than 30,000 families attend the Holiday Lights at the Beach event every year, spending the day together while admiring the most impressive light displays in the area. This year, you'll find the giant "12 Days of Christmas" display, complete with lighted sculptures measuring 20 to 30 feet high. Play holiday music on your car radio and create your own soundtrack for your festive drive through the lights!

Celebrate in a Spooky Way at Halloween Town and Treat in Virginia Beach on October 29

Halloween is just around the corner, and that means that the kids are likely gearing up for trick or treating. In Virginia Beach, you won't want to miss the Halloween Town and Treat on October 29 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Center.

This year's theme is "Oh, The Places You'll Go!", and it will feature activities for everyone at the Fountain Plaza. There will be family-friendly games, crafts, and even a scavenger hunt to find The Cat in the Hat. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear their best Halloween costumes, and the kids will love to do some trick or treating at the candy stations scattered around the town center.
