Noon Year’s Eve Bash: Countdown to Noon!

If your kids are too young to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve, then turn the clock around at the Noon Year's Eve Bash: Countdown to Noon! This annual family event will be held at the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center, and it will feature all of your favorite New Year's traditions exactly twelve hours earlier.

The Countdown to Noon begins at 11 a.m., and it features arts and crafts that kids and parents can do together, live music, and much more. Once the clock strikes noon, there will be a New Year's Eve countdown complete with a kid-friendly toast. Best of all, the Countdown to Noon is free and open to the public!

This annual event runs from Thanksgiving Day to December 31, 2016, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to bundle up with the family and take a drive through the botanical garden's incredible light displays.

The Dominion Garden of Lights 2016 is a 2-mile drive that features more than 1 million twinkling holiday lights. You'll find light displays with seasonal themes, and they're so incredible that the even was even voted one of the best light displays in the country by USA Today. With shows from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the Dominion Garden of Lights 2016 is truly a can't-miss event.

Watch Downtown Norfolk Light Up for the Holiday Season at the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade

There's nothing more magical than the winter holiday season, and in Downtown Norfolk, the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade will light up the streets and really kick off the festivities. On Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m., head downtown and watch as the city's elaborate holiday lights are illuminated for the first itme this year.

During the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade, the region's largest holiday parade will wind its way through the streets, complete with a marching band, giant balloons, themed floats, and much more. This year's theme is "Winter Wonderland," and it promises to be a truly incredible sight to see. Even Santa himself will make an appearance at the parade, so this is one event that the whole family will love!
