Pick a Pumpkin Straight from the Vine at Hickory Ridge Farms Pumpkin Patch and Fall Events

Looking for some fall fun that people of all ages can enjoy? Check out Hickory Ridge Farms' Pumpkin Patch and other fun fall events! Every weekend throughout the fall season, this local farm will sell a wide selection of seasonal produce, homemade foods, warm apple cider and other delicious treats. There will also be a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin to take home with you, hay rides, a corn maze, children's play areas and much more.

Fall hours at Hickory Ridge Farms are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free, but you must purchase tickets to the hayrides, play areas, pony rides and to ride the barrel train.

The Virginia Zoo Presents “Charlotte’s Web” on September 30

Spread a blanket out under the starry sky at the Virginia Zoo's showing of Charlotte's Web on September 30. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., families are invited to watch a screening of this childhood favorite movie in the unique zoo setting. It's all a part of the zoo's "Zoovies" series, which offers family-friendly movies outdoors at the zoo.

Admission to this Zoovie event is $5 for people ages 2 and up, and it's completely free for zoo members. Outside food and beverages aren't permitted, but there will be refreshments and snacks available for purchase.
